Terms of Use

Last updated: 3 October 2026

These terms explain what Azamanja Space is, who it is for, and what we each agree to do. They are written to be read. If something here is unclear, email us and we will explain it or change it.

1. What Azamanja Space is

Azamanja Space is a marketplace. We introduce customers in Malawi to independent tradespeople — we call them Wazamanjas — who offer services such as plumbing, building, electrical work, tailoring, driving, cleaning, tutoring, painting, mechanics and security.

We run the software that lists profiles, carries messages and takes the subscription payment. We are not the contractor. The work itself is agreed and carried out directly between you and the Wazamanjas.

2. Browsing is free

Browsing profiles and reading reviews costs nothing. Contact details of paid, subscribed Wazamanjas are masked in search results until you subscribe, which is how we keep the directory useful and funded. You see the unmasked number, can message and can request a booking once that subscription is active.

3. Subscriptions for Wazamanjas

Listing on Azamanja Space is a paid subscription. Current plans are MK40,000 monthly, MK110,000 quarterly and MK400,000 yearly, payable by mobile money.

  • A subscription makes your profile visible in search and unmasks your contact details to subscribers.
  • Subscriptions renew at the end of the period unless you cancel beforehand.
  • Cancel from the app or email us before the period ends and we will not renew it.
  • We do not refund a completed period that you chose not to use. Tell us early and we will look at it case by case.

4. What we verify, and what we do not

We verify the phone number a Wazamanjas signs up with by sending a one-time code, and we record that the number belongs to whoever holds the device. We check that a trade category is chosen. That is the extent of it.

We do not run criminal-record checks, trade qualifications or reference checks. A verified badge means a phone number was confirmed — not that the person was vetted. Reviews are left by users of the platform and are not independently verified by us.

5. Your responsibilities

  • Give accurate information. A wrong trade or phone number wastes everyone's time.
  • Describe work honestly and agree a price before it starts.
  • Pay the Wazamanjas you hire. Your subscription to our platform is not payment for their work.
  • Do not post illegal content, do not harass anyone, and do not use the platform to scam.
  • Keep your account and phone number to yourself. We let you change your number, but an account is not transferable.

6. Ending it

Either side may stop at any time. You can cancel your subscription whenever you like, and you can close your account by emailing us. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, scams people, or leaves a job half done and unpaid.

We will try to tell you why before we remove anything, unless the account is fraud or the law requires us to act immediately.

7. If something goes wrong with the work

Raise it with the Wazamanjas first — most problems are a misunderstanding about scope or price and are settled fastest directly. If that does not work, email us and we will look at the messages, booking and payment history on the account.

We can help mediate and, where a subscription was taken for a listing that turned out to be wrong, put it right. We cannot make a contractor turn up or refund work they did not break. That part sits between you and them.

8. Availability and changes

The apps are still rolling out, and features change as we improve them. We may change prices or these terms; if a change affects you in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.

Keep the copy of these terms that was live when you subscribed; that is the one that governed you.
